Protests Erupt in all over TamilNadu: Youngsters start their protest against the government all over TamilNadu, demanding justice for Anitha. After the Ariyalur district, the protest started in Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore. Anitha a 17-year-old girl from a village in Ariyalur district, fought against the NEET exam in Supreme Court committed suicide allegedly after she did not get an admission into a medical college. She scored 1176 mark in her board exams and have 196.75 cut off for medicine. Her marks would have guaranteed her a seat in either stream without NEET. But she scored 86 percent in National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) so she did not get the medical seat.
Her wish is to become a doctor but due to this NEET exam, her dream was destroyed. Students and the Political Parties are protested against the State and Central Government, demanding justice for Anitha’s Death. Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Revolutionary Students and Youth Front (RSYF) participated in the protest on Saturday.
TamilNadu Chief Minister Palaniswami announced a compensation of Rs 7 lakh to Anitha’s family. Other Political Parties, Rajinikanth and Kamal showed their condolences.
Anitha’s father T. Shanmugham said ““Anitha managed to study in difficult circumstances. She was concerned about NEET. What wrong had she done, who will answer?”. Due to this incident whole, the village was in shock. She got the admission from Madras Institute of Technology to study Aeronautical Engineering but she rejected that to follow her dream of becoming a doctor.
Police officials are watched all areas in Chennai for precaution of Protests. But students are gathered as small groups in Chennai and doing their protests.
