Exit polls- showed the sour picture for the Congress but the party workers choose to remain silent, by saying that the result for 2019 Lok Sabha elections would not be one-sided that has been projected by the media’.
Some of the exit polls projected that BJP-led NDA will get more than 300 seats comfortably to cross the mark of 272 seats in Lok Sabha elections. The atmosphere on Monday at Congress headquarters remained drab’, as party workers rejected the exit polls and said 23rd May would give the result quite different from the projections.
A Congress worker, Jagdish Sharma said that “the exit polls are an attempt by the BJP to spread rumours and they might try to manipulate EVM’s after creating such environment”.
‘We will perform better and win. It would not be one-sided as projected. We have seen the real atmosphere at the ground and no one is believing the exit polls except the BJP’, said Jagdish Sharma.
Neeta Mishra, Congress General Secretary at Vichar Vibhag, said the exit polls might be a strategy of the BJP to make Mahagathbndhan and join hands with NDA or it might be to make uncertainty in Congress to form the government.
Congress also questioned the credibility of exit polls as exit polls have proved to be wrong in past.
Lok Sabha elections of 543 members for 542 seats has ended on Sunday. Because of allegations of abuse and money power, the Election Commission has delayed elections in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
