Google Android O Features and Release Date

Google Android O: The next version of Android was released by Google on August 21 and called as Android O. We did not know why they named this version as O but some of them suggest that the name O mention Oreo and some others suggest this as Octopus. The release date of Android O will coincide with the total solar eclipse. Google plans to have a live stream from New York, which will start at 2.40 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) which is around 12.10 AM for India.

Google Android O Features and Release Date

We assume that the new update coming with a lot of features like better battery life, enhanced security features, Picture in Picture (PiP) mode, improved notifications, better audio quality, and much more.

Android O Features and Release Date:

Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode: This feature will allow users to continue watching videos while working with other apps. So you can watch a video while sending messages to others.

Background App Limits: Google will adding a new feature to save the battery life by setting a background app limits. This works as a power saving feature to limit background applications, which means the phone’s battery will last longer than it usually does.

New Emojis: In this version, they redesigned the emoji. In place of the emoji that were known as blob faces, you will be getting more circular faces that what you get on iOS.

Notification Dots: A small dot that appears on the app icons when there is a new notification. It will only appear in case of an unread notification. Just long press on the unread notification and you’ll notice a pop-up bubble appears in the form of the notification. This feature looks similar on iOS.

Faster Boot Times: The new version is designed for faster boot times and apps loading times with Android O. So apps will run and load faster if you run Android O on a smartphone.

The new version will be available this summer. Google planned to release the next version before Pixel 2 released to the market. So, the new version will be available in all Google-branded smartphones. Android O will come to the following devices: Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P. The first smartphone to come pre-loaded with Android O would be none other than the Pixel 2, which we hope will be announced sometime in September.
