Vishwakarma Puja 2017: Vishwakarma Puja is also known as Vishwakarma Jayanthi or Vishwakarma Day which is a celebration of Lord Vishnu in Hindu mythology. He is considered as the creator of the world. It is mostly celebrated in the States of India in the month of September or October in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tripura.

According to Hindu mythology, Vishwakarma is the son of Brama who is the creator of the Universe. According to Rig Vedha Vishwakarma is mentioned as a divine carpenter and he is the science of mechanics and architecture. According to the story of Ramayana, Golden Lanka was the place of Ravana who kept Raman’s wife Sita there. At that time Lord Shiva married to Parvati and he asked Vishwakarma to build a beautiful Palace for them. Then he builds a palace made of gold with all his efforts. Lord Shiva invited Ravan for the inauguration function and asked him what he wants in return. Ravan asked for the Golden Palace and Lord Shiva gave it to him. Thereafter it became for Ravan.

Vishwakarma is known for the Lord of Engineering and Construction who blesses his followers to their dedication and work. Idols of Vishwakarma was specially decorated in all factories and industries along with employees. In some parts of India, people fly kites on this day as a mark of Vishwakarma Puja.
