World Blood Donor Day 2017: Every year June 14 is celebrated as World Blood Donor Day in all countries since 2004. This event raises the awareness among the public about donating the blood. Many schools and colleges conduct a campaign which creates awareness among the public. It is safe to donate the blood every 90 days once. The donated one unit of blood will be retained in the body within 24-48 hours after donation. The Blood donors should be in good health. Diabetes and disease affected patients should not donate the blood. The age of the person should be between 18 and 60. The weight should at least 50 Kg. The person should have normal systolic and diastolic pressure and normal body temperature of 37-degree Celsius. He /She should not suffer from asthma and any other ailments. The Haemoglobin level in donor’s blood should be 12g/dL.
