World Soil Day: Today, December 5 is celebrated as World Soil Day across the world.  The soil is that sticky brown stuff that gets walked all over your prized cream carpets. But people are in ignorant about how important the soil and use of it. World Soil Day aims to battle, a few things could be more important to us, the inhabitants of Planet Earth, who could never hope to survive without the land.

The soil is obviously the important thing, one needs for the survival of all living things from plants to animals in the ecosystem. It contributes to our food, water and energy and playing an important part in reducing the impact of climate change.

History of World Soil Day

In the year 2002, the International Union of Soil services has declared to celebrate the International World Soil Day on December 5th every year. World Soil Day is celebrated in order to know the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor to human well-being. On this day, enormous programs were conducted by the students club of College, schools, and researchers to create awareness about the importance of Soil among the public.

The best way to celebrate World Soil Day is to create the awareness among the public and students by the scientist and make them to know how soil is important to the ecosystem and to survive. It is very important to reduce soil erosion in this well developed and highly technological modern world. So Researchers and Scientist teach the people about how to soil erosion.

World Soil Day is celebrated every year on December 5 at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) headquarters in Rome, the regional offices and through national and local events. This year 2017, World Soil Day is celebrated in the theme of ‘Caring for the Planet starts from the Ground’ as Soil is the upper layer of Earth in which plants grow.

So whatever we do against nature today will create a big disaster in future. Hence we celebrate the mother nature with the natural resources and develop and maintain it rather than destroying it.
