Pongal 2018 Movies: Pongal is the most traditional festival celebrated by people of Tamil Nadu. It is a four-day festival and it is celebrated mostly by the people living in villages. They celebrate the day in harvesting on the first day of Tamil month (Thai month) followed by they worship Cow as Gomadha and celebrate the day as Maatu Pongal on the second day. Pongal is also found celebrated in other Southern states of India
During these days, most of the schools, colleges, and offices were declared Holiday for the celebration. People on the festival days celebrate in their Hometown with traditional wears. On these days, people celebrate the festival with friends and family by watching new movies that are releasing for Pongal. Likewise, for Pongal 2018 as far now five movies are confirmed to release which includes Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam, Vikram’s Sketch, MaduraVeeran, Gulebagavali, and BhaskarOruRascal.
Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (Suriya, Keerthy Suresh)
Thaanaa Serndha Koottam is the Indian film which is also known as TSK is a heist film written and directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja which is scheduled to release on January 12. It is a remake of Hindi movie Special 26. The film features Suriya and Keerthy Suresh in the lead role and other casts are Ramya Krishnan, Kalaiyarasan, Nandha, RJ Balaji, Senthil, Thambi Ramaiah, Anandaraj, Sathyan, Sivasankar, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan and Brahmanandam. TSK is also dubbed in Telugu and it will be released on the same day in the Title ‘Gang’. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the songs especially ‘Sodakku mela Sodakku’ already rocked all over Tamil Nadu.
Sketch (Vikram, Tamannaah)
Sketch is the action thriller movie written and directed by Vijay Chandar and produced by Moving Frame. The film features Vikram and Tamannaah in the lead roles. Vikram has given the recent hits such as 10 enrathukula with Samantha, Shankar’s I, and Irumugan with Nayanthara. Following that victory, his film Sketch is scheduled to release on January 12 for Pongal. Soori, Radharavi, Vela Ramamoorthy, Ravi Kishan, R. K. Suresh, Hareesh Peradi, Sriman, Sri Priyanka and Vishwanath has also played supporting roles in the film. The music for the film is composed by S Thaman.
Madura Veeran
Madhura Veeran is another action film which is written, directed and cinematographed by P. G. Muthiah. V Studios and PG Media Works produced the film Madura Veeran. Actor Vijayakanth’s son Shanmuga Pandian was playing the lead role of film with the introduced actress Meenakshi. Samuthirakani, Bala Saravanan, Vela Ramamoorthy, Mime Gopi and many more artists are playing an important role in the film. Santhosh Dhayanidhi has composed the music for the film and it is to be released for Pongal on January 12.
Gulaebaghavali (Prabhu Deva, Hansika Motwani)
Gulaebaghavali is the Tamil action comedy film, written and directed by Kalyaan and produced by KJR Studios. The film features Prabhu Deva and Hansika Motwani in the leading roles, with Revathi, Ramdoss and Yogi Babu and others portraying supporting roles. The film is scheduled to release on January 12. Prabhdeva’s recent film devil and Kalavaadiya Pozhudugal have got good support from the audience. The music for the film is composed by Vivek–Mervin.
Bhaskar Oru Rascal (Arvind Swamy, Amala Paul)
Bhaskar Oru Rascal is another Tamil Comedy film which is written and directed by Siddique. It is the remake of his own Malayalam film Bhaskar The Rascal (2015). The film features Arvind Swamy and Amala Paul in the lead roles, while Baby Nainika, Master Raghavan, Soori, Siddique and Robo Shankar play supporting roles. The film is ready to hit the theatres on January 12. The music for the film is composed by Amresh Ganesh.
