Perth Scorchers WBBL 2021: The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) is one of the biggest cricket tournament in Australia. Many abroad players participate in the tournament. Now, the players are being selected by the teams for the upcoming WBBL 2021.

For upcoming WBBL Season 2021, the team Perth Scorchers have signed South Africa allrounder Marizanne Kapp and Sri Lanka batter Chamari Athapaththu. Perth Scorchers finished fourth in the last season of WBBL with six wins and six losses. They lost semifinals against Melbourne Sydney in Sydney.

Marizanne Kapp

Kapp is the world’s No. 1 ODI allrounder who has moved from the Sydney Sixers. She has got plenty of experience, having played in various leagues across the world, including the Kia Super League in England. She has 90 wickets in the WBBL and 892 runs in the tournament, moved to Scorchers team that has not won a title yet. Kapp has also played 81 T20Is, with 986 runs at an average of 18.96 and has picked up 62 wickets at an economy rate of 5.39.

Chamari Athapaththu

Athapaththu became the first Sri Lankan player to be signed by a WBBL franchise when she was brought in by the Melbourne Renegades in 2017. She had several memorable international performances against Australia in the last few years. She scored an unbeaten 178 in Bristol in the World Cup in 2017 and a rapid hundred 113 off 66 balls in a T20I at North Sydney Oval in 2019. Athapaththu’s last match in the WBBL was in 2019 having not participated in the 2020 season.
