Ravi Shastri, the New Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team, Zaheer for Bowling & Rahul Dravid for Batting

Finally, India Head coach, batting, and bowling coaches are found and announced by BCCI. Ravi Shastri is the new head coach of India Cricket team which announced on the night of Tuesday. But, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied it only to confirm the Head coach position later.

While the BCCI has also announced the bowling and batting coach of India cricket team.  Zaheer Khan is the bowling coach and the former India skipper Rahul Dravid had the role of batting coach.

Early there was a rumour that Ravi Shastri will be the head coach of India team. But, the board denies it early. The BCCI’s Acting Secretary, Amitabh Choudhary said that “No decision has been made on the appointment of a new coach. The CAC is still deliberating over it.”

PTI quoted that as BCCI acting president CK Khanna saying “On Cricket Advisory Committee’s recommendation, we have decided to appoint Ravi Shastri as the chief coach while Zaheer Khan will be appointed bowling coach for a period of two years.”

Early, a team had a meeting about the appointment of new head coach for India cricket team. Also, the team India and the captain stayed calm on this discussion as long. After many dramas around this post including the interview of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar had to five candidates such as Richard Pybus, Tom Moody, Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag and Lalchand Rajput for the India head coach post.

Finally, the BCCI announced that the new appointments have done till the 2019 World Cup, England.

So, the first assignment of all these new coaches of India team against to Srilanka. Also, Ravi Shastri will not be commentating for two years.

In the statement regarding the appointment of India cricket team coaches, it saying “As the Indian team is to play Test cricket overseas in the next two years, Rahul Dravid’s expertise as batting consultant will be immensely helpful for youngsters.”

“Zaheer is a contemporary cricketer who assumed the mentoring role to a young fast bowling unit even during his playing days with India.”

“Shastri has been the Team Director in the past, and brings with him a wealth of experience, both as a player and as coach.”
