Rs 200 Currency Notes Hits Next Month: The Reserve Bank of India has stopped the printing of Rs 2000 currency notes from now. Around five months back the RBI stopped printing Rs 2000 notes and small denomination currency notes Rs 200 currency notes were started printing from last month.
The report says that about 3.7 billion Rs 2,000 notes which amount to Rs 7.4 lakh crore, have been printed so far after demonetization of Rs 1000 currency notes that compensate for the 6.3 billion Rs 1,000 notes that were withdrawn after demonetization on 8 November 2016.
The Reserve Bank of India has already reported that Rs 200 currency notes were already in the printing process. This enables the easy circulation of money in the country. Rs 500 notes are also available in larger amounts these days which got replaced. Much low denomination currency notes were being printed in larger quantity.
The printing of new Rs 200 notes has been started in RBI’s Mysuru printing press and the note may come into circulation by next month. The notes are going through multiple checks for security and quality at government printing press. The introduction of Rs 200 notes will be done by the end of this year 2017.
