Thalapathy 62: Vijay’s Mersal gives a Blockbuster to him in which Kajal Agarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. It is a consecutive hit for Vijay and director Atlee after Theri. But Mersal which was released for Diwali 2017 has created great impact and issues at the national level regarding GST.

The other movie of Vijay under AR Muragadoss are Kaththi in which Samantha paired with Vijay and Vijay played the dual role in the movie. In Thalapathy 62, it is a great news Oscar winner A R Rahman to compose the music for the film. AR Rahman officially signed in on Thalapathy 62. It is the third film for Vijay in AR Rahman music. Azhagiya Tamil Magan and Mersal were the two films in which AR Rahman composed music for Vijay. ‘Ella Pugalum Iraivan Oruvanuke’ song from Azhagiya Tamil Magan and ‘Aalaporan Tamilan’ song from Mersal had created massive sensation during its release.
