PM Modi to Inaugurate Kochi Metro Rail Service Today

Kochi Metro Rail Service: The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is going to arrive at Kochi today (June 17) to inaugurate Metro Rail Service in Kochin at 11 AM. Modi to make his journey in the Metro Rail. PM Modi expected to land at the Kochi naval base at 10 am. He will proceed to Palarivattom station to board the Metro to Pathadipplam and will return to Palarivattom. Then he will proceed to Kaloor International Stadium, the venue of the inaugural ceremony.

Modi will enter the Palarivattom Station at 10.35am. He will travel along with Governor justice (retd) P Sathasivam, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, minister for urban development (MoUD) Venkaiah Naidu, MoUD secretary, Rajiv Gouba and Kerala chief secretary Nalini Netto. Advisor to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation E Sreedharan and Kochi Metro Rail Ltd managing director Elias George will accompany them.

The entire Kochi Metro route will be 26 km long with 22 stations. However, the first phase will run 13 km covering 11 stations between Palarivattam in Kochi and Aluva, a neighbouring town. The minimum fare to ride in Kochi Metro Rail is Rs.10 per head. For an end-to-end ride in Metro Rail, the fare is about Rs. 40.
