IPL 2021: Axar Patel, CSK Staff Member & 10 groundsmen at Wankhede tested Positive for Covid-19

IPL 2021: Within a week IPL 2021, is going to start and the players are reached their destined spot to play their first match. The first match will be for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai and the players reached there safely. All the players were isolated for about 10 days and have been tested for COVID 19.

The second match is scheduled for Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. In Mumbai, the COVID cases are increasing day by day. Recently Sachin Tendulkar was hospitalised due to Covid-19. Now Delhi Capitals All-Rounder Axar Patel who reached Mumbai on 28th March was reached with Covid negative report. But today he was tested positive today.

Also, a staff member of Chennai Super Kings not the player also tested positive for Covid-19. It is clear that affected person was not in contact with the players for the past few days. Mumbai Wankhede Stadium, eight ground staff members and six event managers has been tested positive for Covid-19 today.

As Covid-19 is peak in the Mumbai City, BCCI is looking for change of the stadium with just seven days to start of IPL 14th edition. Indore and Hyderabad have been kept as stand by venues for the IPL in case the Covid situation spirals out of control. BCCI will be looking for easy and safe travel for the players to play in this season and they will announce the other stadium for 10 matches which are scheduled to play in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
